Looking for a fun and meaningful way for your kids to make a difference in the lives of other kids?
Encourage them to submit artwork for Hope Alive’s 4th Annual Visions for Hope, a unique fundraiser at the Delaplaine that features a silent auction of artwork by artists 21 and younger. Proceeds from the event support the children’s programs at Hope Alive, a transitional group home in Sabillasville, MD for moms and kids who are homeless. (Be sure to check out Hope Alive’s website for more info.)
This year, Dancing Bear is providing free craft kits (while supplies last) to young artists who want to participate in Visions for Hope. Just stop by the Bear, select a kit, and promise to bring back the completed project by Friday, April 15.
We hope that our donation of craft kits will encourage more families to support Visions for Hope and the important work of Hope Alive. We have seen firsthand how children thrive at Hope Alive–in an environment where they are loved and accepted and able to learn and play and experience all the joys of childhood.
It doesn’t sit too well with us that children in Frederick County (or anywhere, for that matter) are homeless. Until we find that magic wand that will ‘make it all better’ for needy kids, we try to do as much as we can to support organizations like Hope Alive who are making a positive difference in children’s lives.
If you have any questions about Visions for Hope, please be in touch. Thanks for caring…and for sharing this information with the young artists in your lives.
